Welcome to the Care in Surgical Care Course.
This course will provide appropriate training for all personnel involved in the insertion/management of chest drains and to comply with the standards set out in this guidance.
Surgical drains are tubes placed near surgical incisions in the post-operative patient, to remove pus, blood, or other fluid, preventing it from accumulating in the body.
Upon completion of this course, the participants should be able to:
- Ensure a standard approach to care and management of surgical drains through evidence-based practice.
